First heat some water on the stove in a kettle. Let your water come close to a boil. But the water shouldn't be boiling because that ruins the flavour of the matcha powder.
Scoop and sift the matcha powder into your whisking bowl (It's not absolutely necessary to sift the matcha but I do this because it removes all the clumps).
Pour the hot water over the matcha powder. Using your softened bamboo whisk (or milk frother), whisk the matcha until it has become deliciously frothy and creamy.
In a large glass add some ice cubes.
Pour a splash of your lilac syrup into the glass.
Add the desired amount of milk depending on how strong you like your matcha lattes.
Lastly pour the prepared matcha over everything else in your glass.
