Healthy Vegan Matcha Oatmeal
This Healthy Vegan Matcha Oatmeal is super creamy and delicious. Do you love drinking matcha lattes? Well then give this super foods packed oatmeal a try because it’s basically a tasty oat matcha latte in oatmeal form! Top it with tasty berries, banana, and roasted coconut flakes. Yum!!
Make sure you use good quality matcha to make this Healthy Vegan Matcha Oatmeal as delicious as possible, as poor quality matcha can unfortunately be quite bitter. Matcha is very nutritious as it’s full of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties! So not only does matcha add lovely colour and flavour to your oatmeal, it’s got great health benefits. And what’s great about topping this matcha oatmeal with fresh fruit, is that not only are more healthy nutrients are added to your healthy breakfast, but the oatmeal becomes a bit more sweet. The fruit adds healthy antioxidants, and important vitamins and minerals to your breakfast. So this delicious breakfast is a wonderfully healthy and tasty way to start your day!
Healthy Vegan Matcha Oatmeal
Ingredients
The Oatmeal
- 100 ml oats
- 200 ml oat milk or water *
- splash of pure vanilla extract
- pinch of sea salt
- ⅔ tsp matcha
- 2 tbsp hot water
- agave syrup ** optional, I didn't find it necessary
Toppings
- 1 banana
- raspberries
- blueberries
- roasted nuts for protein or nut butter
Instructions
- Boil water. Mix approx 2 tbsp hot water with the matcha and whisk until there are no matcha lumps left.
- Add the matcha mixture and all the other ingredients to a microwave safe bowl and mix until everything is properly combined.***
- Microwave the oatmeal for about 2-2.5 minutes depending on your microwave.
- Top with coconut flakes, raspberries, banana and blueberries and if you wish more oat milk. Add nut butter or roasted nuts for added protein.
