This Fig Tahini Cardamom Maple Healthy Oatmeal vegan bowl is literally amazing. All of the flavours match each other so perfectly. This recipe has a medley of really well rounded flavours. From the nuttiness of roasted pecans and tahini, to the sweeter taste of maple and the mildly sweet and fruity flavour of the figs. The complex and delicious flavour of cardamom balances the two sides out. Tahini doesn’t just add delicious flavour and nutritional benefits, but it also helps the oatmeal be suuper smooth and creamy. Heavenly.

Okay this is probably my new all time favourite oatmeal combo. Since I created this Fig Tahini Cardamom Maple Healthy Oatmeal the first time, it’s been a non stop breakfast choice!! It’s so many amazing flavours in a bowl it’s heavenly!! And of course it’s healthy and filling because it’s refined sugar free with healthy fats and protein. This oatmeal bowl also comes together in only 5 minutes! Couldn’t be any better! I hope you like this recipe as much as I do! Enjoy 🙂

Fig Tahini Cardamom Maple Healthy Oatmeal (Vegan / Refined Sugar Free)

Ingredients
  

  • 100 ml oats
  • 220 ml oat milk/or water *
  • ¼ tsp cardamom
  • ¼ tsp vanilla
  • pinch of sea salt

Toppings

  • fresh figs
  • Splash of maple syrup 
  • tahini
  • unsalted roasted pecans  I roast my own

Instructions
 

  • Add oats, oat milk/water, cardamom, vanilla and salt to a microwave safe bowl. Mix until combined.
  • Cook the oatmeal for 2-3 minutes in the microwave.
  • Slice the figs while you wait for the oatmeal to be ready in the microwave.
  • Once the oatmeal is done, mix again.
  • Place the figs on the oatmeal, drizzle on tahini, a splash of maple syrup, and toss on the roasted pecans. Add a splash more of oat milk if you wish. And now enjoy your delicious breakfast!

Notes

*I wrote use either oat milk or water for the oatmeal base of this recipe, as oat milk will make a creamier oatmeal, but will also contain a few more calories than if you use just water. So it’s a personal preference which one you use, but either way it’s delicious! Another option is to use half water and half oat milk.
